The solo artist Eden Golan has insisted the Eurovision song contest being held in Sweden is ‘safe for everyone’ amid protests against Israel's participation because of the war in Gaza.

A journalist asked the finalist: 'Have you ever thought that by being here you bring risk and danger for other participants and the public?' Golan was told she did not have to answer the question, but the Dutch entrant Joost Klein said: 'Why not?'

People saying "keep the politics out of eurovision" are about 50 years too late.

He said "why not", she gave him a look. And he was never seen again

Not the legend himself, Joost Klein (Netherlands) yelling: "Why not!?", when someone told her she didn't need to answer that question.

Unbelievable how the double standard is so brutal. Why she is fault that there are people who want to harm her? Insane and shame for blame the victim

if he asked any other country in a war the same question it would have been all over the news

This question is so disgusting 🤢 So, she is “guilty” because someone potentially wants to hurt her?!?!

I'm not sure Russian singers would agree.

It should be safe for everyone regardless their faith/ religion or ethnicity. Can't believe I have to write this in 2024!!!

Can we talk about how childish the representative of Greece was that she acted as if she was falling asleep from Eden's answers? Eden did not disrespect anyone there and as a human being she deserves the same respect back.

The only risk there was came from people who forced the politics violently into the competition.
Y'all brought a dangerous riot against a 20 year old competitor and her audience shout with death threats in a music event that's supposed to promote peace.
So stop blaming her, keep your argument outside of Eurovision

These journalists don't have respect towards Eden and even more disrespectful from Joost. He is not more than "full of himself" with that rude body language. I can't believe that we have to encounter this circus. In 2024!!! 🤦‍♂️
This went so far that it is disgusting to watch. Shame!
I will give credit to Eden because she handled without pressure, mature and proffesional. Be like that!
Kisses from Croatia 🇭🇷❤️🇮🇱

I’m thankful for the world showing its true face and making us all realize why Israel is so necessary for our well being

the risk and danger does not come from eden it’s the crowd themselves who chose to go there to cause chaos

I can't get the question.
How does she bring danger to the other participants?

She poses no threat to anyone. The jihadists are the ones that pose a threat to people's lives. The journalist is not only suggesting that it's better to be cowed and yield to the threat of violence but also pre-emptively blaming the victim of such an attack.

This inquiry unjustly places blame on the victim. Eden poses no threat; rather, she is subjected to malicious assaults and falsehoods.
