During a robbery, four thugs kill a woman and a child: they are the wife and son of Don Salvatore Savastano (Mario Merola), a respected and feared smuggler, who immediately leaves in search of revenge. Thanks to Gennarino, an orphaned street urchin of whom he has become a friend and protector, Don Salvatore manages to unmask his son's murderers, but gets into trouble.

Eduardo Alfieri ( Naples , 9 October 1930 – Naples , 1 December 2000 ) was an Italian composer of numerous film soundtracks and author of numerous successful songs.
Using the pseudonym Vinicio he recorded many records as an accordionist for Durium .
He took his first steps in the music world thanks to Sergio Bruni , who took him into his group Sergio Bruni and his cadets . In 1956 he was the author of the song Piscaturella , and in 1957 of 'A sunnambula , written with Gigi Pisano . In 1959 he was the author of 'O pirate , written with Salvatore Palomba , while in 1961 he composed 'O codice 'e ll'ammore , written with Gigi Pisano; both songs are presented by Mario Trevi . With Trevi he began a collaboration that lasted from 1961 to 1969, taking care of the arrangements of the artist's singles (such as Cunto 'e lampare , Settembre cu mme , Mandulinata blu , Me Parla 'e te , Che chiagne a ffa!, Cara busciarda ) and of the albums Classic Neapolitan Songs (1965), Modern Neapolitan Songs (1966).
In 1964, Durium produced and distributed the album Mario Trevi with the E.Alfieri orchestra for the Venezuelan market .
Durium itself will produce and distribute Trevi's recordings arranged by Maestro Alfieri in Europe and America .
During the sixties he composed many songs, some of which were performed by top stars of Italian music such as Mina , Claudio Villa and Peppino di Capri . Over the decade he participated several times in the Naples Festival as a conductor and as an author, writing songs such as Nothing cchiù! (written with Carmine Della Gatta and presented by Mario Trevi and Mimmo Rocco in 1965 ), Lacrema (written with Salvatore Palomba and presented by Mario Trevi and Mario Abbate in 1968 ), and winning the 1967 edition with the song 'O matusa interpreted by Nino Taranto and I Balordi . In those years, in addition to Trevi's recordings, he took care of the arrangements for artists such as Aurelio Fierro .
In 1966 he participated in the Rose Festival , reaching the final with the song Tutti vai via performed by Beppe Cardile and Mario Trevi .
He participated, as an author, in the 1975 Sanremo Festival with the song Ipocrisia performed by Angela Luce , which ranked in 2nd place.
Since the seventies his work as a composer of film music has intensified. A fruitful partnership was born with the director Alfonso Brescia and with the king of the script Mario Merola , for whom Maestro Alfieri composed numerous songs. He appears in Lacrime napulitane of 1981 , in the role of himself, while accompanying Angela Lenci (i.e. Angela Luce) in the recording studio, while she performs with Ipocrisia .
In the nineties he returned to collaborate with Mario Trevi , taking care of the arrangements of the albums ...Pecché te amore bene (1995) and Nustalgia (1996). Again with Trevi, in 1992, he took part in a broadcast on Naples Canale 21 , where he accompanied the artist in the interpretations of Piscaturella and Catena.
In 1996 and in 1997 he directed the orchestra in the broadcast Naples before and after .
He died in Naples on 1 December 2000 , at the age of seventy.
