About Family Guy:
Come spend some time with the Griffins. Peter's the obnoxious, befuddled father. Lois is the loving mother. Son Chris is often confused, and daughter Meg is too smart for her own good. Speaking of smart, we'll all be in trouble if maniacal genius Stewie (the baby of the family) gets his way. Oh, and don't forget the martini-sipping mutt, Brian. This perfectly normal suburban family is the brainchild of mad-genius creator Seth MacFarlane.

I'd bet if Scotty dies his parents would be like "I guess we didn't pray hard enough"

People like Scotty's parents need a reality check

If he actually dies and his parents say - " Oh well, I guess we didn't pray hard enough. Let's make a new kid"

Family guy (although a humor-ridiculous show) did an episode on this about a kid from preschool that stewie befriends.

He passed out during a play date with the griffins and rushed him to care. He had a similarly deadly issue as this kid, and due to religious purposes, the parents refused treatment and leaned on prayers for the cure, and took him home.

They end up kidnapping him in the night to get him help and Lois told the parents- (VERY paraphrased)

“You believe in faith and in god but not medical science? You believe that with faith and prayer, god will hear this and heal him. don’t you think that maybe, the answer to your prayers IS medicine? That maybe god answered so many prayers by providing the knowledge and ability to be educated and learn and advance with literal medical solutions to illnesses? And maybe we should listen?”

If Scotty did died it will be like this…
Ben comes out and grabs the newspaper. He see’s an angry mob and throwing tomatoes and signs saying ‘Child KILLERS’ and ‘Burn in HELL!!!’
Mob member 1: Murders!
Mob member 2: How can you let you son died?
Ben goes back inside and he and Hope continues to pray until the mob leaves.

Christian scientists are not exactly like that, they're more like rituals prayers traditions and holy water kind of people

The way so many people think religion really works like that makes me laugh, or maybe cry. God is not a genie in a bottle, you all.

Why do all the characters in this sitcom make the same showing-something gesture with their hands/paws/wings? I mean, it grows irritating

In our society, why not allowing your child get treatment from cancer (aka subscribing your child for suffering and death) is very bad and immoral, while giving birth (aka subscribing your child for suffering and death) is ok?

I am a Christian and I disagree that Scotty shouldn't have had to be in the hospital and agree with Lois that it's too serious to leave him sick. I don't think that they're right about that part of Christian Science and prayer does not help as much as the hospital but I view prayer as a useful tool for being happier and a useful tool to get God's message.
