Following Man United's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, the main story surrounding the club has been the exclusion of Jadon Sancho and the subsequent social media bust-up that's taken place between the player and Erik Ten Hag. But what's actually gone on between the two? And what can we learn about their relationship from similar stories that have followed Sancho's entire career.

Never heard anyone blaming Sancho for anything. In fact, if anything, he’s been given loads of time and fans have been patient with him. You want to know what a scapegoat feels like, talk to Harry Maguire….

I’ve never heard anyone blaming him for any results. If someone’s making him a “scapegoat”, they’re doing a terrible job of it. Sounds like paranoia. Narcissism?

Perfectly said…everyone thinks it’s ETH when CLEARLY, Sancho has a problem with authority, timeliness, effort, and attitude. I say “Adios Señor Sancho!”

I think it's fair for a manager to criticise his players. What Ten Hag did wasn't even throwing Sancho under the bus like it was suggested, but merely just answering the question honestly at the PC. He also didn't say Sancho was lazy/shit/etc. He only said that based on training he wasn't selected.

This feels like a symptom of society nowadays where people feel that everything and everyone under the sun is out to get them. Look at Wan-Bissaka and how he was dropped from the team and responded so brilliantly without a word said.

Probably Ten Hag and some senior players have talked to Sancho serveral times before he was dropped from the squad for the Arsenal game. I have a hard time to belive that Ten Hag dropped him for one bad training session. And by the way; Sanchos reaction is unacceptable. Ten Hag only said that he want Sancho to perform better if he gonna play for Man United. Its not strange at all that the manger demand this from a player who is one of the best paid players in Man United.

I have listened to countless reports about this matter...but this is the only one attempting to state the facts (what's known so far) without taking sides..great work!

“I’ve conducted myself well in training THIS WEEK”
The manager expects you to train hard every week, Jadon 😂

If you post a message on social media directed at your manager it's never going to go well, it's simply suicidal. I don't know what he thought he could achieve.

From what I can gather from being well on the outside, whatever agents or entourage Sancho has in his ear "advising" him on career direction aren't helping him mature as a professional, and he's still a young player who needs real guidance and direction. Not making excuses for him -- I think there's plenty of behavior that he's showcased which is entirely unacceptable for a pro, but again he's a kid and has also had struggles I can sympathize with (mental health stuff, injury problems, social things, etc.). He has a lot to shoulder, and I think people attacking him or calling him weak ignores the complicated position he's in.

It's easy to chalk it all up to blanket statements like "he's a prima-donna" or whatever, but I think his choice to air dirty laundry on social media earlier this week is more evidence towards him feeling backed into a corner and being inexperienced with how to handle it more than simply an attempt to stir up drama. Good intentions or not, he's certainly found himself in a hole now.

Every manager Sancho has ever played under has had the same issues with him.

That's a whole lot of unfair scapegoating.

Not the biggest Maguire fan, but if anyone wants to talk about scapegoats, na Maguire has a shout, Rashford was dropped and he owned up to why he was dropped out his head down and worked, he has been scapegoated, wan bissaka was dropped by the manager for half the season and had pundits and fan cams saying his career was offer, he didn’t make any comment in the media he worked himself back into the first thing, sancho has been the most defended player both by the manager and fans

I hope ETH drops Sancho to the U23s and lets him play his football there, Just to see if it makes him Smile?!?
Then the first team should Move Pellistri into the Spot Sancho had, as 2nd choice RW, but with Antony's issues
upcoming, who knows where that may end? Pellistri, has the chance to make Right wing, his spot, and then Amad
can be the 2nd choice, or they could rotate, as needed

I find it unbelievable in these times when players like Sancho, earn more money than most of us will ever see, that they can't be bothered to make it to training on time! How hard can it be??? The rest of us are busting our backsides every day, working all hours of the day, for next to nothing in comparison. And he can't even drag himself away from COD to get himself to work? Do me a favour...🤨
