The Dakar Rally first took place in 1978, making it 45 years old. We are blessed with 8-10mins of content daily. In 45 years Dakar has advanced a lot but as one of the greatest rallies on earth we should be able to watch it like the Olympics. Dakar missed a trick somewhere and it is very sad for those who love it, who swore to compete in it and viewers.

Airbag jackets are a game changer. People get back on bikes and finish stages after crashes that could have been race or career ending.

Those bikers are such troopers man, imagine falling down and tumbling on the ground at God knows how fast just brush it off and get back on your bike as if nothing happened

I appreciate interviews, in-cockpit cameras and commentary about positions... but at the same time I miss good footage from race itself. Course, jumps, climbs... even without commentary (just titles like driver/position/km). I guess there is so many minutes of good footage that we will never see.

Is Dakar losing it's appeal with the crammed in coverage by less helicopters, to much talking, no more personal interactions, no more "boo boo of the stage and and and... 🤔🤔🤔

Think this will be my last question about covering the trucks, and if Aramco is cutting back on the sponsorship.
No more scenic helicopter/drone views on the lovely environment in between, except this one little lizard....
