The Texas Instruments Professional Computer has risen from the ashes, but it's not quite 100%. However, it's in a much better state that it was before. In this video, John explains the machine's status, and takes a look at some of the software he has for it.

You can still enter 'S' by holding the ALT key down and entering 083 on the numeric keypad.

My grandfather worked at TI for almost thirty years. He pulled his TIPC out of storage an gave it to me with the monitor. Unfortunately the keyboard was long gone. I hope I can find one some day, or learn how to program an arduino to spoof the TIPC keyboard. I'd love to get mine running!

The TIPC will support 768K rather than just 512K. Excellent point about the keyboard key technology. It's likely thet the text editor uses Wordstar command structure.

John...thanks so much for preserving and featuring this Forgotten Machine in video here! So exciting to see this. We are restoring several of these, and have some advanced tools that could help you image (and emulate!) the hard drive. We also have floppy images / recreated floppies for other software you don't seem to have if you're interested. Would you care to collaborate? If so, please reply and I'll let you know how to reach me directly. Thanks!

Wow! A whopping 512K of RAM (probably soldered directly to the MB).

Was this the one that sat on that desk in the front room forever ago?
