In this video, Dr. Berg talks about varicose veins and what causes it.
Varicose Veins Causes
• Pregnancy
• Menopause
• Obesity
• When Taking Birth Control
• HRT or Hormone Replacement Therapy

Estrogen is the one common root for these causes. Varicose veins are when the veins get distended, ballooned out, and twisted when they are exposed to too much estrogen. Aromatase is an enzyme in the body that causes the body to make more estrogen by converting it from testosterone.

What You Need to Do
1. Do a healthy ketogenic diet - The less fat you have in your body, the less estrogen dominant you are going to be.
2. Consume cruciferous vegetables
3. DIM – Concentrated version of cruciferous vegetables
4. Garlic
5. Start an intense exercise program

I have varicose veins on my left leg, about an egg size (flat), half inch high for 40 years. Recently, I found it became smaller a little bit, about 1/3 reduced in volume. I started to do intermittently fasting since late of March, from 16:8, to OMAD. I noticed couple days ago, the varicose veins is almost gone, ~ 10% left, very surprising.

I was overworking my legs doing catering work. I wasn't just standing, but I was moving about on my feet. I was runner slim and fit eating healthy. And I love garlic and fish. Yet I had the spider veins in my ankles. What I believe helped me was to quit the catering job which is usually a 10 to 12 hour job hustling on foot. It took 7 years to get rid of them.

Basically everything than increases pressure in your veins, also contributes to varicose veins.

I started getting varicose veins in my early 20's! Throughout the years they worsened especially during my menstrual cycle. My legs would become swollen and the veins were painful. I finally had them surgically removed but they came back. I have them mostly on my left leg. The Dr. Diagnosed me with deep vein thrombosis. I always wondered what were the cause of these painful, unsightly veins? Maybe I do have high estrogen levels and that could be a good start in addressing the root problems of my veins? Thank you Dr. Berg!

I remember you saying in another video that it was caused by vitamin c deficiency. Could you expand on this, please? Thanks.

It's also hereditary! My father, and his mother have them. Mine started in my early twenties no kids! Not overweight! But I was working as a stylist and standing for long hours.

First operation when I was 17.
Much exercise but they returned slowly. Second surgery when I was in the 40ties. I got stripped (good length of my outer veins).
A lot more exercise 5-6 times a week plus daily some gymnastics. They returned slowly and started at the other leg.

Now I am nearly 7ty and they disappear slowly. Since 3 month I take two times a day (morning and evening)
long cold showers they speed up in recovery. Especially for the legs each some minutes. Before I did it only once for three years and not that long, what stopped them, but now they heal rapidly.
I am male and was of course never pregnant and only a little chubby in my later life, with good muscles.

I do OMAD and KETO, but this cold exercise is probably the tipping power. If I stop doing it for two days they start to bulge a bit. So I will do it whenever it is not impossible.

Of course I swim now the whole year in natural water bodies. With Tummo breathing (to get some control over my autonomic nerve system) it is no problem and quite comfortable. Only a fresh minty feeling on the skin.
We all live a too artificial life.

Combined with OMAD and KETO I think I will die one day quite healthy.

Since doing keto my painful varicose veins have quit hurting and are shrinking. Losing 70lbs and running 20 miles a week has helped. After running of course the blood flow is increased every vein in my body that I can see seems to bulge out. But when I rest after it seems they flatten out and I am hoping over time they completely go away. They never bother me anymore before they were very painful.

can xenoestrogen from plastics and pesticides including glyphosate also raise estrogen, or make varicose veins worse?
