🔴 FULL REPLAY: SpaceX Rolls Booster 12 to the Production Site After Catch | Starbase

Following a successful catch during Starship Flight 5 on Sunday, SpaceX will roll Booster 12 back to the Production Site for inspections. Road closures are available between 12PM-3PM or 12AM-3AM CDT.

Booster 12:
The Booster features 33 flight-proven Raptors. Booster 12 is the first stage for the fifth flight of Starship. The Booster previously performed three cryogenic pressure tests, a spin prime test, a static fire test, and a flight.

Stage zero is the unsung hero of the catch. I have seen the tower roasted on other launches. Everything needed to be pretty much flawless post launch to enable the booster to come back.

If you can catch the booster and you can bring Starship in for a pinpoint landing, then you can catch Starship if you have a second tower.

Until you have a second tower, it is a good time to test Starship with landing legs and land Starship on a barge. You might want to have elevated capture ring segments to embrace the ship on landing to avoid having Starship tip over if the barge rolls.

The question regarding the next flight is what SpaceX wants from the next flight. It would be pointless to repeat flight 5 UNLESS they have made some interesting changes to the heat shield and want to test those changes. I think next flight will be late December.
