I agree, but I also think it’s wrong to outsource labor to sweatshop countries with no environmental protections.

The best book ever written in defense of free (i.e., competitive) trade is Henry George's, "Protection or Free Trade." Professor Wolff makes a number of important observations about how the regulatory differences in countries affect the import and export of certain goods. Consumer power in the U.S. has dramatically increased the production of foods (including the raising of animals) using organic methods. IF there is the potential to sell chickens in the UK and make a profit doing so, chicken producers in the U.S. will adjust their methods to meet global standards.

Not sure if Self Sufficiency or "Trade Protectionism"

Trade protectionism is essentially the method by which Global corporations are able to maintenance and sustain there are monopolies and control over the economy for the benefit of a few at the expense of the many. Trade protectionism is a sort of feuding between feudal Lord corporatists monopolists who are vying to position or reposition re-establish or continue to control the economy to the extent by which makes it prohibitive for individuals to compete with them in an open Level Playing Field because of the very collusion between government and corporations to make certain that regulations licensing fees by laws and very various other policy-oriented strategies makes it prohibitive and preventative 4 individuals to open up and sustain their own businesses. After all the only way to produce wealth and to keep it within communities is to give the people economic freedoms and sound money oh, and this way wealth can be recycled within the community. But what we have instead is a massive Global corporate ocracy that ensures the flight of capital, the flight of wealth and resources away from communities never to return but only with little trickle down crumbs. And quite frankly the only way to measure freedom it's through economic freedom and sound money, and then no other way can we measure freedom for value. It is economic freedom and sound money that gives Humanity the proxy by which to reason and negotiate their lives as individuals on their terms in the same way that birds accomplish in the natural world, whereby they choose a nesting ground build a nest and raise their offspring while Gathering the necessary resources through their labor unin hindered and unmolested by corporate Taco C's and man-made dysfunctional power control Paradigm tactics and methodologies. For the more we understand that the lack of and or diminishing economic freedoms and complete absence of sound money is responsible for the root cause of misery on the planet. The economic mathematical formula that is used to determine the misery index is by taking the unemployment rate and the rate of inflation and charting it up to give us the corresponding levels of misery. And so therefore we require Knowlton full hat to understand the source of misery and then turn from their the source of the main social problems being experienced today. To go even further still as it relates to the human Spirit we can clearly see that economic freedom and sound money is the foundation by which Humanity can develop and maintain sound mind, self-worth and maturity as well as internal from there the ability to Foster and nurture love, empathy and forgiveness in ways that can be measured for True Value. And so now we are more readily able to understand the root cause of so-called psychosocial and socioeconomic inequities and disparities between groups of people and thus we have the means by which to measure the damages and injuries of human Spirit as well as misery and the actual source and root cause of what is wrong with all of global societies.
