How to spend Two Days in Reykjavik 🇮🇸 | A non-touristy City Guide

We visited Reykjavik in the spring of 2022. A walk down Laugavegur street to Hallgrímskirkja church, just before heading off on the Iceland ring road, was a perfect initiation into all things Iceland.
For us, the highlight of Reykjavik city was the Laugavegur street, come alive with cafes and street art, all while sampling some good old vegetarian food. The reward at the end is the unmistakeable Hallgrímskirkja church which towers over the whole downtown area. Exploring this gorgeous neogothic church, we reach its bell tower which offers some spectacular views of Reykjavik city.
Our mornings were spent exploring things of the old. On our first morning we walked through the old harbour area and got our breakfast at the oldest table in all of Iceland, Kaffivagnnin. On our second morning we explored one of the oldest cemeteries in Europe that has stood the test of time. Needless to say, these served as interesting windows into understanding Reykjavik city's history and cultural origins.

Hi! We are Pooja & Shravan, an illustrator-engineer duo from Bangalore brought together by the love of travel and adventure.
We have traveled together since the winter of 2016. On one such trip, we started documenting these travels on a humble phone camera. We soon realised that we really enjoy capturing these experiences. We are entirely self taught (students of the internet) and have learnt from binging on brilliant creators over the years.
