Today I am exploring Kathmandu’s Famous Monkey Temple! A lot of you requested that I get a guide next time I went adventuring. So, in today's video I have mixed individual exploring with the addition of a guide to explain the history of this beautiful place.

Namaste, This is well known UNESCO world heritage "Swayambhunath Stupa". Swayam means "Self" and Bhu means "Born" in Sanskit. Many millennia ago, Kathmandu Valley was a huge body of lake. Before draining the water out of the Kathmandu valley, this lake was a renowned pilgrimage where many enlightened beings came across from different parts of the world to see the "Eternal flame of light" coming out of the lotus in the lake. Later on, well known enlightened being "Manjushree" slacked a small hill in Chovar near Jalbinayak with his sword to drain water out of the valley. After the water was drained the valley was formed and an "Eternal flame of Light" was deposited in the present stupa known as "Swayambhunath".
