LIFE HACK - DIY BATTERY TESTER - simple and free, no intelligence required. Got a drawer full of random batteries? Chances are some of them are completely drained and some of them are fully charged. The problem is knowing which is which without buying an expensive battery tester! I learned this trick a while ago and it remains one of my favorites. Simply drop the battery with positive and up onto a hard surface like a granite countertop from a distance of about half inch. Do it number of times and you’ll find that the charged batteries drop with the thud and remain standing. The drained batteries rattle and fall. You’re welcome!

Does this work with automotive batteries too?

My son is getting into sword tricks. I purchased a training sword from a company. How can I make or do you know where I can buy a lanyard for a sword. The sword blade is made out of aluminum and cost over $200 therfore I want to limit the amount of times the sword is dropped if possible. Thank you for your time and any input

Idk-looks like your dropping them from two different distances- you grab the “full” one close to the top each time and the “empty” one you always grab almost in the middle before dropping it.

Guys do not belive on this!!! This does not work beacouse the battery's charged or discharged wheight the the same! You can try it on your scale if you do not belive me they just need to be from the same brand

Ah yes, because electricity weighs so much one battery is so much heavier!

But seriously, chemicals do move from the anode to the cathode as the storage discharges, so there might well be an absolutely miniscule change in the internal weight distribution. I really don't see how you'd be able to see it though..
