I would recommend don't open nps account for child. Since there is no tax benefit and 60 years locking. After 60 years, u have to give 40% of corpus to lic and they will pay pension at 6% of ur annuity corpus and this corpus amount altimately goes to share market only... better invest in nifty 50 index fund compare to NPS
