Why do 50 Cent and Kanye West hate each other? Kanye West and 50 Cent released their third albums on the same day in 2007 and 50 said if he lost he would stop writing music! In 2007, Kanye purposely released his album Graduation 7 days early on Sept. 11 2007 which was the same day 50 Cent was releasing his album Curtis. The war between the two rappers was historic and they knew how to add fuel to the fire. Kanye and 50 stared each other down on the cover of Rolling Stones and squared off like boxers at the VMA’s. Whoever’s album did better would crown them the king of rap for the foreseeable future so both rappers gave it their all into selling their records. In the end, Kanye was victorious with almost 300,000 more album sales than 50 in the first week. Kanye’s song “Stronger” also hit the number 1 spot on the charts while 50 could only manage to get a song to go Number 5. The feud ultimately helped both rappers sell more albums and 50 Cent never actually quit rapping.

They don’t hate each other. It was pure healthy competition with respect for each other, Fifty confirmed it in his book. Also, Curtis album wasn’t really that good compared to graduation or his first album get rich or die trying.
But the winner of the competition was Universe studio because both the artists were signed to that label.
