My best guess with the out-of-place Wind Waker commercial was an attempt to sell the game to those who complained about it's cartoony looks.
If that's not why they made that commercial, I don't know what is.

To be honest, I don't think any of the people that made the commercials played any of the games, because I as far as I know, NONE of the goals in the games are to "get the girl." I'm pretty sure they just played Mario and thought that was the plot of Zelda as well.

Um yes. I played like a girl... because I am one. I beat the game twice. (spoilers ahead) Also not to mention that you don't even save Zelda until the end of the game. She literally helps Link and saves him a couple times throughout the game... (like when Kakariko Village caught on fire) She isn't kidnapped by Ganondorf until the very end. Not even that, but there isn't a heck of a lot of romance between Link and Zelda during the game so there really isn't any "getting" the girl.

My mom grew up playing ocarina of time and I grew up watching her play. Once she beat it, then I made a save file then played it for myself :) I didn't beat it the first time so I put it down for a while (stuck in water temple)

And a few years ago I picked it back up from the same Wii and beat it! Ocarina of time was so much fun to play and although I played the very first Zelda, ocarina of time is what made me fall in love
