You can't compare a 20y mortgage for a vehicle and one for a house. By the end of it you will have an RV worth very little and very high maintenance. On the other hand a house probably will be worth more than what you have paid for it. You'll be better off if you keep replacing your RVs with old but cheaper ones.

In my opinion it's best to buy a good, used RV. There are so many for sale that have barely any milage/use on them for a lot less money. RVs lose value once purchased and it hurts a lot less when you didn't pay as big of a price tag for them.

Those super C's were beautiful 😍 We have a Class A diesel pusher. The tires on ours are $1000 each. We have 8 of them. Annual service on the big diesel engine and generator runs $1100. On those oil is measured in gallons not quarts.

Wow! Would you want to drive a city bus around all the time? Guess you could put a scooter in there for small trips.

I’m a retired RV Tech still working part time for a RV service center so I have a few things to say ….. you just looked at a lot of junk . Looks pretty on the surface but you can’t even begin to imagine the problems that are underneath the look. You looked at a Velecia, we have a new one in our shop at the moment and guess what, problems. Oh sure the warranty covers it all for now but when the warranty is over your s out of luck. If you want I can send you a link where a converted school bus is for sale and it’s as sweet as what you just looked at. I say if you were to buy one of those fancy ones you looked at, you would regret it . I’ll post a link for you to consider….

Wonder how the resale value is, when the time comes to move on to something else?

Those are amazing RV's! We have been considering something like that and also towing a small car behind. The RV can be parked in the RV park and use the car to get around town and visit local attractions. Still a long ways off for that though!

20 year RV loan? When was the last time you had a vehicle you were still driving a 20 year old vehicle? How many miles will it have on it? He probably talked about the "bulletproof" Mercedes chassis. I looked at one (a van) with 450, 000 miles on it. They do run forever, if you do the Mercedes recommended services ALL the time. In the book for this van, there were over TWENTY repairs and maintenance that exceeded $5, 000 each. Do that math. Yes, it ran great, and drove well, but the expense to keep it there was astronomical. THEN, take that same mileage (works out to 22, 500 a year for the 450, 000 I used), so when you finally pay this off you'll have a rig that has 450, 000 miles, a 20 year old refrigerator, 20 year old stove, air conditioner, water systems (20 winters worth of freezes), 20 year old roof, windows. One more. EVERY time it has to have maintenance lasting more than a day (almost always), YOU have to leave your home, and all your stuff in someone else's hands. Buy a great TRUCK, and then a trailer. Then you can spend the next 20 years swapping trailers to your hearts content for 20 cents on the dollar. When you get to you destination, you can unhook the trailer, and discover the area in your pickup. Best advice? You've already proven you made some good moves with your first purchase. Take advantage of that, and drive that one for 2 years. You'll know a lot more, and can find the best used bargains on what you want then. IMHO, new campers are for fools.
