Nice video, I actually learned quite a bit about point cutting. Word of advice though, maybe if you're working on dark hair, wear a lighter shirt? It's kind of hard to see lol. Great vid dude

You have finally confirmed for me what I have been trying to explain to anyone who has ever cut my hair. I always ask them to please do not use thinning scissors, texturing scissors or use point cutting, as my hair is very fine yet thick. If it is not blunt cut it looks a mess and I like tidy layers. Since covid started I have been cutting my own hair(one year now) and I am getting better hair cuts than I would say 80 percent of the salon cuts I have gotten through out my life, and I am not young, LOL. Do hair dressers find it insulting when you ask them to cut your hair a certain way? I ask nicely but I am telling you I have had some horrid cuts. My hair is so easy to work with, I don't get it.

I wish you’d cut my hair! I have a ton of straight, unforgiving hair. Once it’s styled and then takes a rest....you see every cut, therefore I need a very skilled, perfectionist like yourself. I want to be able to blow it dry, hit it with a round brush then go on my way. A great haircut know where to fall. I have a point cut now and my hair is so confused. Loved your video!

I HATE point cutting . No woman wants thin straggly jagged hair . It’s impossible to style . I am so angry that hairstylists take it upon themselves to cut out the bulk when you say I want it to look fuller w long layers .

You're amazing. My daughter has thick wavy hair and is well overdue a cut. No hairdressers taking kids under 10 atm due to covid. Thank you millions. Xx

Thank you! I found this to be very helpful. I have a hair appointment in two hours and was going to ask for my ends to be point cut. After watching, I realize that point cutting is the opposite of what I want and need. I have fine hair and ends and am always looking for more volume. A blunt cut will be my request; thanks again!

Thanks. Such great info and delivered in a very understandable way. I'm not a professional hair designer, but am interested in how to get the best from my hair and this really helped. You're great!!

I think you did a very good job showing the difference between the point cut and blunt cut. I think it looked best blunt cut then point cut in certain sections.

I really need a cut but don't feel safe enough yet to go to a salon. I am a curly girl, but my hair is fine, so I think I go for the blunt cut :) Wish me luck! :D
This video was very informative, thank you :)

Every time I ask a hairdresser for a ‘blunt’ cut, they always end up ‘point’ cutting. It is so frustrating as I have fine hair but lots of it. Why do they not understand?? This is why I have purchased my own scissors and have started doing my own hair. I am not a hairdresser. However, most these days are in such a hurry, they never do the sectioning of the hair and layer it properly. There are so many crappy, passionless hairdressers out there.

To me the point cutting side looked fuller than the blunt side...I'd like to see it done on blonde hair bc I believe we could see those layers better...thx ..I will like & subscribe now.

I'm the opposite here. My hair is very thick. All stylist did blunt cut till my current who now does deep point cut. It's the best my hairs ever looked. And she is the highest end I've ever gone. The piecy look is what works on my face.

POINT CUTTING DESTROYS MY HAIR!

DO STYLISTS KNOW HOW TO
DO A REGULAR HAIRCUT WITHOUT POINT

I have naturally curly hair (that is also fine)that I like to wear straight as well, if I get it point cut, my hair goes wispy when curly with bits sticking out and when I blow dry and straighten it with irons, the wispy ends practically sizzle at the ends! I despair as I need blunt lairs ☹️ but Never get them now. No one listens and end up point cutting parts. I'm really frustrated, my hair rarely looks good after a point cut.
