Home builders continue to deliver a record number of new houses and apartments in Florida's housing market. Yet the number of buyers is declining, and many are sitting empty and vacant.

With the inventory of homes for sale in Florida's housing market spiking. This builder community near Davenport is a good example. Dozens of homes recently delivered with no one living in them.

New homes are being built really subpar. Some home inspectors on YT post what builders are doing cheaply and selling for absurd prices.

All new subdivisions are HOAs and few people like to be double-taxed and bullied by petty board members.

The new homes are so cheaply built they wouldn’t handle a decent storm.

I love it! Fake job postings & luxury ghost towns 😃

And they still won't lower prices enough for most people to afford them.

Most of the land acquired for these new builds were purchased four to six years ago when we still had a promising economy. Those builders are contractually obligated to the cities that ran services to the area.
Now that we’ve hit a second year of recessions they sit empty.

We are moving towards a renters economy. No way the rich will incur any loss.

No one wants to live in an overpriced half-assed fire hazard.

Looks like the subdivision is still under construction and there are no For Sale signs. Until the utilities are hooked up nobody’s moving in.

This is what Austin is like. 1500-1700 sq ft homes and the asking price is $375K+. These homes should not be priced above $200k. These are starter homes and with the interest rate, your looking at $2500 per month mortgage payment. 90% of the USA can not afford this home payment.

Overbuilding is what crushed Las Vegas in 2008. Builders learned their lesson and didn't overextend themselves this time around, and now Las Vegas is relatively stable while other parts of the country are screwed.

In 1985, 1990, 2009 prices of homes went down 50% or so. The problem is no one knows.

We are definitely witnessing all the classic signs of a crash, reckless over development especially of homes people simply can’t afford yet at the same time homelessness is through the roof !

I'm gonna need to call up my family. We can all go down there and squat together. Having a whole community would be nice to pass on to my kids, if they ever find me.

Inventory going up in “Lakeland” in most of the rest of Florida is still below what’s needed, in some places like Miami is still going down…

I've read that getting home insurance in FL is expensive and, in the same cases, impossible. Add that to the anti female laws, I can see FL continue to lose population

WHAT?!? WAIT, you uploaded this for everyone to see, now every homeless squatter in the state will be racing to find these empty places, then you'll never be rid of them 😮😮😮
