Why Is Genie The Last Of His Kind? | Aladdin Explained!

Let’s venture into the world Aladdin to understand why Genie is the last of his kind. While there are some other genies like Genie’s girlfriend Eden, something defeated most of their kind. Genie hunters came after them and today I’m going to explain everything about them. Today we are understanding the what happened to all of the genies.

In the original story, Aladdin had a second genie, the less powerful genie of the ring. In the Disney version, the flying carpet replaces that genie. In addition, there was no three wish limit.

YO! Literally JUST reading the Disney Twisted Tales Aladdin book (A Whole New World) and Genie being the last of kind plays a HUGE role!!

The genie is actually jinni. A jinn a race of invisible spirit beings. The "i" at the end means "my". Jinni is literally "my jinn".

I watched Aladdin religiously. The high pitched of the voices made my brain go crazy: Something's not right!! XD But man, what a blast from my childhood.

I’ve always wondered about other Genies in Aladdin. Genie was the only one shown because Aladdin had to get his happily ever after. In the series they should of shown more Genies besides the female. They could have shown another male.

Great video! Just a thought, I know it'll probably never happen. But I wish Disney would have done more with Genie before Robin Williams passed away. I would love to see a Genie (solo) movie 2-D(animated) that explained Genie's upbringing and his relationships with his Masters before Aladdin...it'll never happen because Robin isn't here with us and Disney doesn't focus on hand drawn (2D) animation anymore. Just a thought, I'll always cherish what Robin Williams work with that character.

Seriously the Aladdin cartoon got deep! So many one off but still memorable and impactful characters! As this video focuses on, when else in a kids show is the concept of peace, even friendship between long time( even generational) enemies shown to be possible ?! This show, man!!

All I know is that, in one of the more mythical, non-Disney setting, genies were Djinn that broke so many laws of their kind that they were sentenced to imprisonment and servitude, sometimes temporarily or sometimes forever. Disney did an interesting Spin on what genies were, though. Great video!
