If you remember The Incredibles movie from 2004, then you probably remember lots of bright super heroes, memorable quotes and funny slapstick humor. But there’s one character who never laughs, and when you look at the movie through their eyes, you’ll quickly find that there’s dark side to the Disney tale after all...

My take on this is yes, Edna _did_ include a cape in Syndrome's costume specifically to kill him, but as for the motive, mine puts her still very much on the side of the good guys. Instead of potentially taking out the competition, she learned somehow that Syndrome had been systematically killing off superheroes, most of whom she knew personally before they were forced underground. Saddened and angered by this discovery, she decided to take her revenge by way of the only other thing that had killed that many superheroes, that being the capes she herself had included in their costumes.

I always got a dark feeling from the incredibles. The scene where Mr. Incredible looks through the database of all the dead superheroes, the scene where he thinks his family was blown to pieces, where Mr. Incredible fails to stop a robber in his boss's office, the montage sequence of superheroes with capes getting killed, the scene with the dead Cyclops rip off in the cave, honestly why I loved it so much considering I was one dark child.

But hey, it's just a theory, a Chills theory

I like theories about Disney movies. I get to spring them on my family when they're watching them, and I ruin the fun.

This theory makes total sense. I always found Edna subspecious

I think Edna's only goal was getting the super heros back to work. weather for the action, business, or to test her new tech. She might have actually turned syndrome down for wanting a cape, so he went off and designed his own with a huge cape, and proved Edna correct.

Edna is not a villain, she is just a normal person, with a no nonsense German Grandma personality. she live for high fashion.

Edna's neither a hero nor villain kinda like Deadpool

I don't see Edna as a villain since she is more like an anti-hero in my opinion. Even though, I don't care if she's a villain or what others say, but if someone shows compassion to make hero costume and then it's a different story. I hoped Edna doesn't become a villain in Incredibles 2.

Edna is also based off the fashion designer Edith Head. I'm a fashion major in college. I did a project on fashion designers

Imagine Chills doing ASMR. His channel name would be perfect "ASMRChills"

I don't agree with this fan theory so much. Edna, at the very worst, would be an antihero. Edna being an arms dealer is pretty extreme, mainly because the only weapons we really see in the movie is at her secret lab, which needs some level of protection and experimentation because of the information it either once held or still holds concerning supers. The revenge part would be nice, except the train incident wasn't the first, or only incident for which Mr. Incredible was sued. Five days prior to the train lawsuit, Oliver Sansweet sued him for what can be assumed as assault when Mr. Incredible saved him from his attempted suicide. The main reason Edna refused to give Mr. Incredible a cape was because of her guilt for letting so many supers die from her faulty designs, and that's assuming she made ALL of their costumes. If she didn't, then she learned from others' mistakes. Of course, let's not forget that she's a DESIGNER. Of course she would view Mr. Incredible's old outfit as a "hobo suit, " even going so far as to talk in a designer-oriented style about how the design is very much out. If her underlying plan was to end Syndrome through the Incredibles, why didn't she only make Helen a suit, instead of all of them, including Jack-Jack. Helen is a well-experienced superhero, as opposed to her 14, 9, and 1-year old children. If anything, her lost passion for supersuit-making was rediscovered, and she couldn't help herself but make more.

Honestly, there are too many holes in this theory, as well as assumptions that have no ground and go against what's known in the movie to be fact.

Actually, the first time Edna is seen is during the wedding scene between Robert and his wife. She is among many other superheroes and is indeed smiling.

I never thought I would get chills from a Disney movie theory, it's the atmosphere of this video and your voice I'm sure. I loved this! I vote yes on more movie theories. :)
