Baby Pig-tailed macaque (Macaca nemestrina) Hitches a Ride With Mom

We see lots of pig-tail macaques (Macaca nemestrina) in our camera traps, and it's hard to choose which videos to share. These primates are endlessly fascinating and highly intelligent.

This camera trap video caught our attention, as we rarely see young pig-tailed macaques being transported papoose-style by their mothers. We are building habitat for pig-tailed macaques and other species to ensure there are viable populations here in Leuser for generations to come.
