Sweet! I like the fact they came stock with a tach on the 125's too.

Yamaha DT's have always had a special place in my heart, since my Uncle and Dad's 1978 Yamaha DT 125's, were the first dirtbikes I was ever introduced to at the age of 5. That is one sharp looking bike, in a cherry red looking shade, of the color red.

In 1980 my friends brother had a two stroke 125 Enduro and went all over the place on it. They are very affordable back then.

I have a 1974 dt125a also. with a 125b gas tank. The tank has a few pin holes but a slow leak. Gonna try to ride it today

I have the a 1974 DT 175 with only 350 miles in it…. All original even the tires…. Twas given to me by an old man, the bike ha only 238 miles in it was missing the key… I went to a locksmith and told me to get the number in the key hole… gave the number and ordered the keys, turned on and there it was. Drove the vehicle for testing but stopped at 350…

First bike I ever owned. 14 years old in 1993. Is run this thing to town, to school, I’d run it on my friends motocross track. I thought I was something on this thing. 😂. Surely wasn’t as nice as this one. I wanted it to look more like a dirt bike so I took the headlight off and I couldn’t ever get it to start after that. I just started cutting wires to get it off. So stupid.

Does anyone know where I could get wiring schematics and parts for one of these. My mother had one from ‘74 to 2016. Unfortunately she passed away, a friend of mine found the bike and gave it to me so I could restore it about a month ago. But haven’t been able to find a good source for either and I’m a car guy, never tried a bike, would like to do this one myself

Found one and bought it for a grand. Cleaned out the fuel system and threw in a battery. Lights were on It was turning over and on the third try it pulled a back to the future maneuver ( lights went off and no more cranking over??).
Any idea were they hide the fuses?
Is there any body out there.
I’m an electrician not mechanic so I’ll have a good understanding on how to test and trace.
Fuse box?

The very first motorcycle I ever owned was the 1974 DT 125. I wish I still had it today.

Kaplan America I am a big fan of you, could you help me get a piston and ring kit for this motorcycle? I am from Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico and I have not been able to find it.
