Counting Complicated Rhythms On Piano

Показать описание

Sometimes when sight reading you will come across a measure of music that contains notes with lines, flags, or dots! Half notes, quarter notes, eighth notes, and whole notes are no problem, but as soon as you begin to add in extra lines and dots... things can get difficult. They don’t have to be, you just need to understand how rhythm is counted so you can clap or feel the beat before you play it.

I've been playing piano for over 15 years and have always had trouble with counting out notes. This was so helpful!!

I always watching pianote every 5-6 in the morning because the lesson is simple and easy to understand... And I can learn the lesson to give the lesson again to my student... Thank you very much for the lesson. I'm from Indonesia...

Very helpful for us musically challenged people with a burning desire for lower blood pressure.

Thank you for posting this video. I have found that the way you've explained timing by using the same note values very useful. I've been manually putting some measures from sheets into my software and converting the values to all C's. Then playing it back at a slow tempo with the metronome playing. Then after I've got that I've been converting them back to the original note values. And it's working very well for timing and rhythm counting practice. Thanks very much for posting this video. Cheers.

Thank you! You cleared up a couple of things for me. Especially your counting method. Much better than the 1-u-and-a i learned. You version flows much better and is easier to count with. Cheers!

Also don't be afraid to learn the right and left hand parts separately and then put them together. It's often easier to do that than to learn them simultaneously.
