‘Falling into line’: Concerns raised over Labor’s misinformation bill

In the history of the world, the greatest amount of misinformation and disinformation has “always been perpetrated by governments – not by citizens”, says former Liberal MP and former NSW Liberal Party president Jason Falinski.

His remarks come as concerns surround the Albanese Labor government's misinformation bill.

“All the institutions that should be guarding us against this, like the legal profession, are just falling into line because they see rivers of gold from this legislation,” Mr Falinski told Sky News Australia.

“It is very serious and I hope people in Canberra take it seriously.”

The fact they they gave us only one week for submissions is a big concern. What do they have to hide?

There should be no central authority deciding truth. The discernment of truth is a responsiblity of the self.

Coalition may not agree to dismiss this law if they win next election. They will use it for their own benefit.

Governments are not the people to dictate any part of free speech. It is the job or duty of government to impose restrictions upon any of our"God Given Rights" It is not the job of government to impose any legislation that defies the will of the people. It is not the job of government to rule it is the job of government to administer the rules and laws "We The People " tell them to administer. The job of government is in fact whatever "we the people " say it is. A free people should be free to say whatever they wish. If what they say proves to be untrue or a lie then that proof should be furnished and "we the people " can and will decide weather or not we believe it

Both political partys criticise each others policies & decisions non stop, this bill will make it impossible for any one to say any thing that the government dose not agree with, this is ment to force censorship that only benefits the government

After the Federal Court’s ruling that a man can legally be a woman if they choose has raised some interesting legal questions that women never thought would have to be asked. 👩‍⚖👩‍⚖👩‍⚖👩‍⚖
1. Under Labor's new Dis-information Laws if a woman says that a man is NOT a woman will she be punished.
2. In a Court of Law if a woman says a that man is NOT a woman will she be punished for perjury.
That is unless the laws passed by Julia Gillard’s Labor Government are overturned as being unconstitutional.
The question is, does the Australian Constitution provide plenary powers to the Parliament to make laws based on personal beliefs to over-rule historically proven factual truths?
If not, then is the existing Federal laws on gender self-identification unconstitutional when applied to a non-consenting third party? 👩‍⚖👩‍⚖

The bill is an economic and national security nightmare. Un-elected lawyers will have a field day. The Voice failed and they wished they passed this bill first.

If this bill becomes law, misinformation will not be a crime, it will be compulsory.
