Update as of 12th July - there are no lines of waiting trucks and the passing time is short. The cars go trough in less than a minute.

Dave, although Bulgaria and Romania are EU countries, they both are still not part of the Schengen area and borders and border cross check still exist here. Going into Romania the trucks go trough detailed checks for some reason.

In reality Bregovo gets almost no truck traffic. Its still a new bridge and I'd say give it a month or so before making any conclusions on where to go trough. Going trough Serbia means at least 2 border checks, higher crossing fees and higher tolls, etc. Once the Romanian border authorities start processing the trucks faster - the picture will be different.
The facts show that the bridge already gets heavier traffic than expected in this early exploitation stage.
