The world is home to nearly eight billion people. These people inhabit seven sprawling continents and almost 200 different countries. And while we may be spread out across thousands of miles, in many ways the world is smaller today than ever before in history. In Unit II: Regions of the World, we break the globe into six geographic regions, viewing each through the following lenses: modern history, economics, politics, geopolitics, people and society, and U.S. foreign policy. With videos, interactive maps, articles, infographics, and online teaching resources, Regions of the World is the perfect place for learners of all ages to explore the people, trends, and stories that shape our globe.

CFR Education, from the Council on Foreign Relations, aims to close the global literacy gap in our country by providing accessible, accurate, and authoritative resources that build the knowledge, skills, and perspective high school and higher education students need to understand and engage with today’s most pressing global issues.
