Maybe 12gen has a bigger battery? Or the coil location is slightly different.

I think that the 12th generation possibly has a new more larger battery that is the reason because in the same time recharging is slower.

Wireless charging on an ereader as a premium feature must be the stupidest thing ever thought of... these things need just 2 hrs on a cable every 1-2 months.

In the UK, they offer a new version of the charger which claims to be compatible with both the 2022 and 2024. The new charger looks similar to the old one.

Ever since I got a “MagSafe” iphone, I have added MagSafe compatible stickers and/or cases to all of my wireless charging compatible android and kindle devices (and pre-MagSafe iOS stuff too).

It’s so nice to have everything effortlessly align for optimal charging, and not “migrating” off center if I accidentally bump it.

Uh? I ordered the bundle with the colorsoft, the case and the anker charger 🤔. It better work 😅

Is there a difference in the output voltage between two, the new wireless is at input 9 volts = 1.5a. Was the old one at 5 volts (I don’t have the old one). Check under the base.

(I know your sample size is tiny.)

3-4% is a very small variance statistically speaking. If your sample size was 1, 500 iterations, it would be well within the margin of error.

I also have the Anker Charger from 2021 Edition and it works very well with my Paperwhite SE 2024.

1) coil location
2) battery size
3) The statement if they aren't even it doesnt matter, isnt true, batteries charge slower after a certain level
4) also leaving the front lihht on (and unloke a phone not the screen in general) will slow the rate....same input more heat and power used.

Another factor to consider is would the new charger work faster on the old one as well and is the battery identically sized as far as how much power it holds when fully charged in comparison to the older battery. If you're basically comparing charging a triple AAA battery vs a D cell battery, the same charger is going to take a lot longer on the D cell batteries BC they have more power. A d cell battery could be rigged up to work the remote but a AAA can't be rigged up to work a big safety lantern (at least not for more than a few seconds). So this charger may actually be charging at the exact same quantity per device but the 12 may have a slightly larger battery, which would make since as the 11th gen said up to 10 weeks between charges and the 12 days up to 12 weeks between charges. So 100% isn't truly equal in this test...

Ive seen a listing on amazzon for a new kindle docking charger £37.99 for the 22-24 models.. is it actually necessary to buy the new one or will the old one be fine? I dont want using thw wrong one to affect the kindle over time?

(Im also tech illiterate so no idea if thats even a thing)

oh wait, did you consider that the edition11 has only 6 weeks of battery life while the edition12 has 12 weeks.
maybe that why the 12 edition doesn’t charge as much?

My MagSafe charger doesn’t work with my 12th generation Paperwhite SE. It worked great with the 11th Gen Paperwhite.

I use it to charge my phone, too, although I have to put something under the phone to make it tall enough to reach the sensor.

Although my kindle paperwhite 32G signature edition has very very good battery life to drain but I usually use wireless charging on it. Kindle readers are very amazing and practical devices.
Thanks for this video

What about the bigger battery on the 12th Gen? Probably impacts your numbers.

Requesting you to compare the Kobo Clara BW vs Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen. I saw your previous comparison and I want to see if there is any difference now. Conflicted between both and want to buy the Clara but not 100% sure because I think it'll be way slower than the new Paperwhite (esp on manga).
Since you have both units, can you please do a comparison video?

PS: Kobo lineup finally available for purchase in India. But new Kindle lineup not available in India yet. My old Paperwhite 10th Gen isn't charging anymore, so I'm having to read on my phone. 😔

It’s only a loss of efficiency if the new charger has better results. Should test old vs new charger.

Nope, the wireless charging appears to work exactly the same as for the 11 gen Paperwhite; it's just that the percents are not the same between devices. The difference is due to the larger battery size of the new Paperwhite - 1900 vs. 1700 mAh.
