nice video, really enjoyed it! I got to 200km/h for a short sec in my R50 (a remaped mini one, about 120hp), though it took me way longer than you and of course I missed that lovely supercharger whine. such a great car, the R53!

It's great to know what my R53 JCW Cooper S will do...and it doesn't have the check engine light on either. The speed in this video is quite dangerous and I know that my MINI starts to float a bit at around 170Km/h so at 220 Km/h, I think is the reason it's dangerous. Nevertheless, a good ride thanks, and I'm glad we don't have open speed limits in Australia.

Small mistake in the Videodescription: its 220nm not 650nm :D
But that Video proofs, that an R53 isn't a top-speed-car. At around 190-200km/h the intercooler doesn't get any airflow due to the aerodynamics of the car.
Also, the angle of the windshield is not helping out on higher speeds.
However, it's still a great car. I love my R53 :D

The good ol' supercharged Cooper S, unreliable, something is always rattling and always in need of something new, but sure is fun as hell.
My friend has got one with a remap, not sure about the power figures but the thing is rapid!!...and unreliable. Fun little machine.

my r53 could never, insane death wobble from 76-92 mph, then it gets floaty at 100, needs aero, a big wang and subframe. thanx for the inspiration.

Mein JCW R53 rennt die 240 nur bergab und mit Rückenwind. Dafür ist er aber deutlich schneller auf 220 als dieser hier im Video.
