I love Boss pedals. I have 52 pedals total at the moment, only 6 of them are brands other than Boss (I have OCD, so I stick to Boss for a uniform look, except for pedals with an expression pedal, like wahs or Whammy, and I own 2 PSK Boss clones). I have a couple rare pedals, like the PW-2 Power Driver, XT-2 Xtortion, and the 40th Anniversary boxed set (SP-1, OD-1 and PH-1 reissues, 1, 500 made). I'm trying to go for a full collection of compact pedals, but stuff like the TB-2W Tone Bender and an original Slow Gear are way out of my reach price wise.

My favorite pedal is probably the RE-20 Space Echo twin pedal. My original was stolen, I finally got a hold of a replacement, I missed it so much.

Thanks, Dome! Since many people describe HM2 sound as fuzzy distortion, maybe it'll be interesting to try some fuzz pedals into your favorite amp?) My personal choice in this case will be Boss Hyper fuzz or much cheaper Behringer Superfuzz) This two (HM2 and Superfuzz) + BD-2 are my go to pedals for noisy filthy tones)

You should do a video of them all hooked up, adjusted to your taste, then play the same riff with each on individually. Sound comparison video coming up?

You have a similar collection of pedals to me, though I have a Turbo Overdrive rather than a Turbo Distortion; In addition I have the Mega Distortion, which I really like; a Super Feedbacker and Distortion; the Bass Overdrive, which I use with bass and also with guitar, as it is great for blending an HM-2 with your amp distortion; a Power Driver; a Digital Metalizer, which I don't really like; an Xtortion, which I don't really use and of course, 5 HM-2s; 84, 85, 86, 87 and 88.

My BOSS collection: OS-2

Previously owned: Metal Zone (broke), DS-1 (didn't like it), Turbo Distortion (liked it, but not as much as the OS-2), Mega Distortion (liked it, but not as much as the Turbo Distortion)

The ODB-3 is really great, it's got a nice meaty grindy distortion and a clean blend - not far off all you could need out of a bass distortion. It's not quite as clanky as something like a darkglass but if you've got an active eq on your bass then you can get there that way if you want. Got one second hand from the guy I bought my bass from over ten years ago, and I don't think it's going anywhere. I got a BD-2 blues driver last year as well, and it's a lovely low gain drive and with the gain quite high up it can get very washy and shrill but in a way I enjoy a lot. But it's not very versatile and I don't think it's something I'd use in a metal context, though I've not tried it as a boost...

I used to have an OS-2 as one of my main drive sounds when I was a baby guitarist and never really got much in the way of a good sound out of it, but I did use it as a boost for recording a few years ago and it surprised me how decent it was for that! I've given it to a friend since, but I'm hoping to get an SD-1 to replace it as a meaner boost.

Senk Ju für deine Videos.

Great Video Dome! Can I ask have used Boss pedals for other effects like the classics Boss CE2 or Boss BF2 ?

I think you're the first guy on YouTube giving an honest opinion about the HM-2 Waza and standing that it's not THAT good. All the major reviews were sponsored, and even the youtubers trying to be as honest as possible, they cannot handle the excitement and end up saying that is a "fantastic pedal".

Custom mode on the HM-2 waza is so disappointing. I wouldve preferred a blend knob.

Boss Power Stack is pretty darn good. Better than the Metal Core by far. I just bought the Japanese Yamaha version of the Digital Metalizer. So close to the Boss (they sound awful)
