Matthew West - The God Who Stays (Lyric Video)

My lyric video for Matthew West's new single "The God Who Stays" released July 26th

This is one of few songs that really touch me, first one is "My Life" by Branan Murphy which is also my favorite song ever, and another one is "Greater Than All My Regrets" by Tenth Avenue North. The day before before the song released, I found out that Matthew was having this song the next day so I told myself that I had to make a lyric video for because Matthew always has amazing songs so you get me!

I was driving with my mom and praying to God, telling Him i was scared i wouldnt be in Heaven and I felt ashamed for my negative heart and evil feelings. I've been tempted to leave the faith lately, im so ashamed and frustrated with myself. But, i turned on the radio after i finished my prayer, and this came on. Just take this as encouragement that God does not leave. Even when youre tempted, He knows we are but dust, He knows our temptations, His understanding nobody can fathom, and He does not grow tired or weary. He still loves us. He is FOR us. He WANTS us. He is willing that none shall perish, He is the one that doesn't leave the sheep behind. We are precious to Him. Take heart, you will overcome this!

This song is powerful... and it's personal. "You're the One who runs in my direction when the whole world walks away." WOW. Recently, all the friends I thought I could trust, even church friends, either betrayed me outright or started shunning me. I've been really lonely, struggling with that feeling and wondering why God would let this happen to me. But even now, I know God is still here, by my side. I am determined to get through the heartache. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and thy staff, they comfort me" Psalm 23:4

Update: Almost a year later, I have overcome the loneliness and have faith like never before, stronger than ever. I made new, Christian friends. God brought me back to Him, and I have trust despite the new struggles that this year has brought on me. And the healing He brought me showed, so much so that others came to Christ for their salvation or came back from their wandering, deciding to put their trust in Christ to help and heal them. God really does have the power to save! Thank you all for your supportive comments! They mean a lot. :)

This song is the opposite of the song "reckless love ". This song is more biblical, The God Who STAYS. He is faithful, when we are faithless. He is faithful to those who are in Christ Jesus. For a while I have been tempted, constantly feeling like I’m doing something wrong that would cost me my salvation. After listening to this song, I literally cried. God loves us all no matter what we’ve done. We can’t earn our spot in Heaven. It comes from faith and faith alone.
