As a Logic user, GarageBand is only good for starting an idea any and everywhere (like sitting on the toilet or just sitting somewhere stuck in traffic) then just importing the basic idea into Logic. Playing the actual instruments on the iPad or iPhone screen is actually great too.

Koala sampler is my go to on the iPad. Adding your own sounds and sampling is crazy plus the fx are damn near sp404 level (for an app). You can separate stems, import youtube videos as samples…crazy

I am still blown away at the fact you can produce on ANYTHING

Your brain is mad intelligent 💪🏽

Beatmaker 3 is what I use and its amazing.. I don't find any issues with sound quality at all. Just throw a good limiter and compressor on the master track and your gold 👊

I’ve been using GarageBand since the iPad 1 (which I still have) and until I got my MPC it was my main jam. I like generating ideas with the Launchpad app too.

BM3 for starting projects in the production faze then exporting the stems for mixing and arrangement in Cubasis 3…. Best combo on iOS platform imo…

I don’t ever see everyone else’s notifications but YouTube always makes sure yours is there

What's up Bolo!!! My BM3 trick for punch is..export stems to audio, bring them back in and add post effects!! Automatic 👊🏾👊🏾

I agree with you about BM3.. The only thing that I’ve been a little frustrated with is not knowing how to do zero crossing for samples to get the clicks and pops out. Maybe it’s because m fairly new to the program.

Big Salute Bolo. I copped Beat Maker 3 on the strength of you o=with your iPad set up. Dope app!

I stepped back from iPad producing over the last year. It's still highly underrated though! Beatmaker 3 is one of the best and hasn't been updated in like 10 years! Standing the test of time. 😂

The mobile band lab sampler is pretty good...I thought it was garbage until I hit the edit button I didn't notice it had and it's actually pretty handy and easy to use.. pretty limited but I like that as limits breed creativity

Myself i mainly use beatmaker 3 and GarageBand. I’m surprised though you didn’t have Cubasis 3 in top 3 list. I haven’t used it myself but from demos I’ve seen of it it’s a top shelf program. With apps like eg pulse and segments you can still sample and have that mpc style drums. Being the cost of it is only reason I haven’t tried it out myself

I have to check BM3 out because it seems to get a lot of love. For me the top 3 Android apps I dabble with are:
Bandlab
Koala Sampler
n-Track Studio

Cubasis 3 seems really good but I don't feel like spending $30 on it. Around 8-10 years ago I was using a good one called Pocketband but they shut down a few years ago. I made my first album worth of music entirely on PB before eventually moving on to Garageband.

I bounce back and forth between garageband and BM3. Then finish in Logic.

iMPC Pro 2 is my favorite. I have made music on the go with this one for quite some time.

I hope they hear you on these things that I would also like them to fix or upgrade or whatever. Thank you Bolo. 👍🏽

If Akai got with Retronyms to make iMPC 3 and make it an iOS version of the MPC standalone software while setting up the Studio 2 to use it by default, we'd have a bit of winner here.
