Kermit, your comment about your ultralight brings to mind something you might enjoy. My father is Richard Peterson, triple ace of the 357th FG in WWII flying P-51 "Hurry Home Honey". As a result of that, I once had an opportunity to have dinner with Chuck Yeager, and during conversations about all the exotic aircraft he's had the opportunity to fly, I asked him what his favorite was, and without any hesitation at all, he enthusiastically said, "My ultralight!" He said that was the one plane that gives him the most personal sense of flying, with a big grin.

I absolutely love that listening to you talk is like sitting with you on the end of a dock, hearing the water lap against the hull of one of your Sikorsky aircraft. It's like listening to a good friend more than a famous flyer.

Thanks for taking the time to field some questions and give some answers and backstories - every airplane has a story (or several), and it's fascinating stuff. I also want to mention that your format here is excellent - a couple of cameras to keep you from being a static talking head, background video relevant to subjects, and at 20 minutes - enough time to go into detail as needed but not so long where viewers might get restless. Top notch, Kermit.

Oh I remember that Stuka control-line model, my folks bought me one in the late 60's. It had a .049 glow plug engine and - like the real Stuka - was woefully underpowered but great fun to fly!

Always enjoy it, Kermit! I bought Air Classics magazine at the drugstore as a kid in the 1970's...guess I never outgrew seeing the old birds fly! Thanks for the fun & interesting videos!

Kermit these are great ! Nice to learn the history and have so many answers in these Kermie Q' videos. I visited Fantasy of Flight a couple years ago and really enjoyed the tour. I'm ready to move to Florida now and visit more often.

Kermit, totally amazing how you've accomplished all this over the years, you're such a positive force for me (fairly old man) and otherwise our kids who have tremendous headwinds and horrific negative influences these days, Godspeed!
