1:04 no no no Heise, you’re not skeptical enough.

The reason is because they will use the incentive to gain critical mass of uptake, then start to pull power from the batteries overnight to offset their baseload needs.

When you’re relying on it to power your deep freeze, or charge your electric car for the next day, they will take priority from your battery. When it runs out overnight, you will automatically click back over to the grid supply at full price 😂

University should be teaching how to think❗ Not what to think!

I got battery and solar.. the 3000$ rebate here in WA came automatically.. we didn’t do it for economical reasons or virtue signalling… but because our power goes so often and we don’t want to lose our freezer of meat.. we generally lose power for more than a few hours several times a month… was gone 24 hours last week, but our off grid system keeps us going… can’t rely on the governments shitty power grid

You pay 55k in tax when you are on 180k, and being on 180K does not make you rich these days.

$9k, thats petty cash, a mate of mine and his Mrs have a household income over $300k. He has bought an EV via salary sacrifice and allowing for the govt grant, reduction in FBT and other grimmes he will save $53k over the 5 years of leasing. Just so Chris Bowen and the Greens can "circle jerk" each other that another EV was sold, but its tax payers money that is underwriting this. Welfare for the rich.

180k isn't much these days especially if talking combined. Have had a 3.5kWh solar for close to 10 years and was still paying $1700 a quarter (with the solar). Installed a Tesla Powerwall last month and am now looking at less than $300 a quarter. Kinda a no brainer with the increasing power rates of late, if it's doable and makes sense where you live. If you think this subsidy is a terrible idea.. you should see how much the petroleum and coal industry gets as a handout. At least solar and batteries have a number of beneficial upsides, not just for the owners.

They need people with batteries to abuse them as buffer for the grid when they go full renewable.

People should build old style outhouses, like Grandad's toilets, to store these batteries. They are dangerous and should be kept as far from the house as possible.

It was the same with the ev rebate mate.

When does Florian run for parliament? That's what I want to know.😉

Even if you get a battery and there a blackout you not guarantee to not be effect, most battery system are still connected to grid so if there blackout your home can still lose power

And let me guess, renters will suffer on single tariff fossil fuel power meanwhile rich are soles will benefit from govt subsidies and cheaper bills.

If you look at it differently though, you're just getting a slice of your own tax back. And possibly reducing your impact on shared infrastructure in the process.

I'm salary sacrificing into my super this year, should cut my tax liability by about $4k. Does that make me a bad person too?

I’d support a stop to battery, solar and wind subsidies when they cut the subsidies to oil, gas and coal.
Seems like you are selectively disappointed by this initiative.

People who earn $180, 000 a year aren't rich.

It doesn’t matter if you earned $300, 000. If it doesn’t add up, people still won’t buy battery storage. Let consumers have access to trade wholesale prices. Then the ROI will get the investment paid off much quicker and consumers can feed power to the grid when needed at night. This would actually make shutting down fossil fuel power stations more viable.

Seems to me people don't factor in replacement of the system in 10 years

So now a 3rd year nurse and 4th year social worker are now too rich working full time plus overtime to be eligible. Those greedy social workers!

Do batteries have to be in separate buildings to servers? 🎉😂

Why do they interfere with the free market
