With this hand & foot double stroke pattern, I demonstrate a Steve Gadd style lick he made famous in the 1980's. You see Gadd using this stye lick in a lot of his drum solos

Steve Gadd is one of my favourite drummers. His grooves are like butter and his solos get my attention from beginning to end.

A prerequisite for playing 32nd note linear drum fills, is that your double stroke rudiment should be in good shape to pull off this Steve Gadd style lick.

Play GROOVES, not notes. Gadd had FEEL, not mechanical perfection. I hear lots of guys who try to imitate Gadd, but they don’t have the right feel at all.
