OPEN BIM Workflow #1 - Element Filtering
BIM-based "OPEN" interdisciplinary collaboration workflow begins with the sender. The first step is that the BIM model is prepared for export in a way that meets the requirements of the receiving party. Here, the main issue to be solved is "signal vs. noise" -- in other words, the receiving party never requires the full BIM model. This issue can be solved at various levels starting with manual filtering of unnecessary elements, through clever layering techniques, to purpose-built functional filters such as those visible in this video.
