Katie I've been shooting just normal vlog style content for creators in LA and have been struggling with this MASSIVELY. I always end up with 2+ hours of footage to go through and it has absolutely crushed my creativity and drive to edit a great video. I've now always asked the talent what story are we trying to capture today, and now I come back with 20-30 min of footage instead. Idk why I haven't ever done this. Thank you Katie.

Awesome tips. Love your content Katie! I recently filmed 3 travel vlogs and honestly was still able to be SUPER present and enjoy my holiday. A huge part of that was just doing voice over during the editing instead of talking whilst filming and also having days where I didn't film at all so could be there 100%.

I don't fully understand the context of the third tip . Could you clarify?

Because I don't think it means that every shot throughout the video should be a wide shot followed by a detail shot followed by a reactor shorts that going back to a wide shots and keep going.. so how should we exactly apply this?
