Tyson Foods unveils new state-of-the-art facility

Tyson Foods has a new home on the Southside. Danville and Pittsylvania County leaders came together with Tyson Foods officials for a grand opening of the new facility.

Crews broke ground on the 325,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility back in 2021. Plant Manager Nancy Frank says that she is excited that the facility is finally up and running.

“I’m personally thrilled to have the opportunity to build a winning team and I’m honored to partner with my colleagues as we bring this facility online, elevating groundbreaking work to enhance our food production experience through innovation,” Frank said.

It is the company’s first smart facility. It includes robotic case packaging and high-speed palletizing, and it will produce 4 million pounds of fully cooked Tyson Foods products every week.
