Don't get me wrong - we all begin at some point, and even with experience we take shortcuts and make mistakes at times. Not adhering to one structure isn't necessarily one of the mistakes; I was trying to offer one option for a method that might have made this particular discrepancy easier to spot. There are many other options for improvements, e.g. you could use MicroPython's own framebuf module to blit bitmaps. And there will always be options. Posting the mistakes can be a great boon for other learners, as that helps train how to find them, and hopefully prevents a false impression that others don't make them.
