It's a great midge but it is not Pat Dorsey's top secret midge. It is a variant of his original pattern. I tie variants much more than "copy exactly" anyone's patterns. Partly because I don't have the ingredients sometimes, and partly because I want something different in my box than everyone else.I only make the distinction here because someone new to fly tying will not know that Pat Dorsey's "top secret material" is still for sale in his old shop taken over by new owners.
