One should read Douglass' 'The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave'( 1845) which is a moving account of the courage of one man's struggle against the injustice of antebellum slavery. Here Douglass uses a matter-of-fact voice, logical analysis and a dignified tone. But no one can read his account without feeling emotionally sickened by the horrors of slavery. Truly he was a fighter, an inspiration.🙏🏻❤️
