Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee Set For PS4 & PS5

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is now on the PlayStation Store Asia and is set, seemingly, to be a part of the new PS1 Classics PlayStation Plus account where games from the PlayStation 1 era will be able to run on the PS4 and PS5 using the Sony Emulator.

I love that whether intended or not, Oddworld have almost become the face of the classics relaunch on Playstation, hopefully will introduce new fans to the franchise. Also, no trophies for Abe's Oddysee.

CRT filters are made to replicate the look of an old CRT TV. The reason that this filter is good is because the lines that run through the screen hide imperfections in the graphics. Infact game developers actually made games around this feature usually, meaning CRT filters can make the game look alot more polished.

Finally, get to enjoy playing Abe on my big 32 inch TV! And let’s hope they’re using the American port cause that one is better than the UK one, the UK one ran at 30fps whilst the American one ran at 60. Then the PC port is great for speedrunning there were 4 foreign ports of Oddysee and Exoddus- French (dommage!), Italian, German and Spanish. All the PS1 ports of those editions were all dubbed over apart from the PC versions they left the English grunts in. The Japanese PC port has all the grunts in.

I can't wait, my PS1 version of AO is buggy and the PC version doesn't work! This could be a great way to replay it! I'm curious to see how they have readjusted the gameplay on PS4, it could be my birthday present soon! 😉
