I discuss idea of political patronage, why it acts as such a powerful tool for the Left, and why the Right must learn to harness it if we want to succeed going forward.

This talk of patronage reminds me of a saying by the late Kevin Samuels, "Money making is a social activity, and wealth is meant to be shared." Fact really do lose to feelings and cash every time.

I feel Auron has summed up my entire political experience since 2004. I feel relieved to finally have it so well articulated.

if all conservative voices dissolved and only yours remained it would be enough to educate America and the wider world. Straight up!

You're the only one I really hear discussing this issue a lot, but it's so key to everything happening.

"Facts don't care about your feelings, " and yet the people who believe this can't accept the fact that their worldview has been the primary hurdle to success, usually due to their ego, a feeling.

Anyway, great as always Auron. This video might be the most important one released yet, as this is the concept that most needs to be drilled into the heads of anyone who doesn't understand the social mechanics of progressivism.

As much as we'd like for everyone to live like Lion'el Johnson, loyalty is not its own reward and many ppl need incentives

Very necessary fact drop. It's amazing how far behind the curve GOP elected officials and party officials really are.

Here in Georgia we are drowning in boomercon false assumptions about the way America works in 2023

I struggled an enormous amount for years after college because of lack of patronage or guidance from my family or piers which again goes back to elite schools and the elite class who don't have that problem.

Hello Mr. MacIntyre, I have been a fan of yours for quite a while and many others in the dissident right. I was wondering if you are going to ever release your work for the “Total State” that you publish on Substack as an actual published book (Passage Press perhaps?)

how is this not just a fact of life for everyone?

I live in Iraq, democracy is 22 years old and this is the defacto way of gaining new recruits

Your comments are exactly my issue with libertarianism. It's utopian and doesn't have a practical way to overcome obstacles like this. People respond to incentives and at all levels people have a vested interest in keeping the system going. To be honest it's going to take some major collapse to create the catalyst to right this ship. But, it's more likely that a calamity like thaywill result in a strongman taking over, not more liberty and individual freedom. While a libertarian utopia sounds good and does explain a lot of the problems that government causes, it is powerless to fix those problems by it's very nature of requiring everyone to voluntarily be on board with it. Demagogues and strongmen will always be able to manipulate people whether through force or charm to go against their long term self interest.

To paraphrase the Lord of Iron

The Right is just like Rogal Dorn.

The Left's patronage scheme has ridden on the back of unprecedented economic growth over the last 100 years. However, low birth rates, aging workforce and expanding global debt will necessitate changes as to how patronage is obtained. There will inevitably be disenfranchised groups and fracturing. Historically this has gotten very ugly as "in-groups" are forced out due to practicalities. Basically, de Jouvenel's "High-Low Middle" mechanism only works when "middle" is growing, or believes it still can - a tough sell under a crippling tax burden and scarce credit.

Seems like everyone else in the world understands this basic truth of politics yet Americans for some reason just either don’t want to admit it or are too ignorant to notice it. Keep up the good work Auron
