This is a testament to the level of intelligence and emotional depth these birds possess. Amazing. And sad.

The more you watch animals, the more they start to look like people.

They're all milling about, chattering, "who is it, did anybody know him?" Amazing to see nature like this, we can only guess at whats being said.

It shows how the death of a fellow being - reaches deep within us all, and more so if it's a loved one.

Crows, Magpies, and Ravens are sentient like humans. They morn the loss of their companions just like us.

I had 7 chickens who taught me they have feelings. One was sickly. She lived 7 months. They would gather a dust bathe her. They also gave her food I had brought during that time. 24 hours before she died, she lie there with all sitting around her, waiting. None had drank or ate for 24 hours. So I had to cull her for sake of the others. I studied, made it lightening fast. There was no moment of pain for her as I screamed. The others did not move until the next day, very sadly. They didn’t want to go out, they didn’t want to play or forage for days. All I could do was bring treats and hold each, which they still want everyday. I love them.

I have personally witnessed this behavior. These birds are far more intelligent & familial than we give them credit for. It's amazing to see. They are saying goodbye to their friend. Thank you for the video.

There's a documentary called, "A Murder of Crows" that is excellent. You would be amazed at how smart crows are. It's the best documentary I've ever seen.

I know crows have funerals but i think those birds were grackles. I had no idea they had similar behavior to crows.
