Chris, what's the status on Crystal in 2019? So far, only ONE tutorial book on Amazon, and ZERO tutorials on Udemy. Eager to learn it, but wondering if it's picking up adoption from major players. Would love to see more tutorials from you on Crystal and Kemal (or whatever Web Framework is best with Crystal). Any updates?

Also check out Julialang.org. Very python like, but compiled and it is officially released, V 1.1. Like crystal they also have an online version at juliabox.com . It runs on linux, windows, mac and freebsd. I use it on my raspberry pi too.

While it is true that Crystal is not "on" Windows yet, devs have been actively working on porting Crystal to Windows for quite some time now

The lack of Windows is concerning. That Office seems to be slowly coming to Linux, and had been on MacOS for a while suggests a change though.

Windows developers aren’t “fucked” at all, we have WSL now - crystal (and anything else) can run in a real Linux environment under Windows now, which is actually much better than a Windows version, since you won’t have to struggle with OS differences, outdated or unavailable binary dependencies or any of that nonsense :-)

(At least if you’re going to do web development - since you will most likely deploy and host on Linux.)

Ok, so appreciate you making a video on Crystal. Critique: A video on why something is awesome probably should focus on that. Ok, so it won't compile on null, runs fast like other compiled languages, and mostly ruby syntax. Offset by not awesome of no killer app, *nix platform constraint, no win32 support, not bleeding edge. Then a long installation sequence because following documentation is hard? This video doesn't really serve a purpose. You didn't inspire me to check out Crystal, you uninspired me, and I am a Ruby dev. Food for thought.
