The very first residential client kept on adding extra services they wanted me to do which is normal and they weren't in the house when I cleaned which like I said was normal and once we were done they weren't back so I told them I can stop by tomorrow to pick up the check, come to find out not only did they move and not say anything they left me no money and the landscaper who was there doing work when I was cleaning had the same issue. Have customers sign a contract and if they don't pay you then take them to Small claims court.

When I was in the 5th grade people used to refuse to pay me for delivering their newspaper.
They'd sign up and then just not pay.
One time when I got the notice that the same people had signed up again I refused and would not deliver. No way was I going to deliver for a whole month and then not get paid again.

It’s also like this for graphic designers. Either freelancer or employed there’s always an stupid and unbelievable clients. Once I had a client to make a logo, I sent her multiple drafts and she told me to change this change that and it was all fine. But as soon as I sent her the final version as draft which is just a screenshot, she stopped responding to me. So she stole my design and ghosted me.
Since then I charge half of the price before designing and also not sending any design without watermark.

I’m a church musician. On the side, I freelance singing for weddings, baptisms, and funerals. I was amazed to learn that people will stiff musicians that perform for their church ceremonies. People can be horrible.

I work as a consulting arborist. People still try to use fraudulent cashier's checks. If I get called on my business phone and the guy says they'll pay "cash" in the first minute it's 100% a scam. First it's cash and I'll meet you at the job. Then they can't make it just do the job, oh I don't have cash but I have a cashier's check that's just as good.

Here in Canada, i had a case at call centre where the cheating customer paid in the form of a PDF cheque. Poor guy! I was so sad because i could hear the guy tired and all at the end of their shift being disappointed and all. I advised to get in touch with that person somehow and see if an actual cheque could be given. There is a special place in hell for these types of cheating customers.
