u forget something important that hypothyroidism itself leading to bleeding diatheses by the following : changes in coagulative factors, platelet dysfunction and capillary fragility .Don't forget Coeliac disease as a part of autoimmune diseases which cause Iron deficiency anaemia and abdominal pain, but any way nice approach I hope these students some day became a good doctors, if they keep reading and take the medicine as serious as possible and the most important thing the Iraqi doctors missing the medical ethics, Iraqi doctors treating the patients with no respect, and they show only arrogance when they approach the patients, so its very important to respect the patient as human . In all this brief session the lecturer doesn't show any sign of respect to this patient, he gave her just orders and never asked her, i.e the patient if she ok, if she comfortable with these questions .As a doctor u must put the patient first and show the patient full respect, don't forget that, please Saddam destroyed the Iraqi people and made them like monsters so be a human again specially when u practising medicine

Q: my mother has all of these issues this lady has. in addition to diabetes and chronic stomach pain (gastritis), she can eat only rice and wheat products because of her stomach flares. how would you approach her case to correct her issues if she can't eat proper nutrition?

You forget something important that hypothyroidism (as a result of changes of coagulative factors and platelet dysfunction), renal failure (due to lack of erythropoetin) and celiac disease(due to malabsorbition) can cause iron defeciency anemia.
The most important thing is both old somali Doctors and Iraqi Doctors missing medical ethics.

Exophthalmos is a specific for Graves disease not any hyperthyroidism for example toxic goiter dont cause exophthalmos . So transient hyperthyroidism due to Hashimato can not cause exophthalmos .

I have a doubt .
From physical or external appearance of the lady why did u conclude it is anemia only, why not JAUNDICE.
Paleness seen in both.
