My husband's friend, not the best man, joked for weeks before our wedding about my husband smashing the cake all in my face and hair. Neither one of us said anything, just laughed along with him. On our wedding day, cake time came and this friend stood right next to my husband. Presumably to get a good view of me getting caked. We got our piece of cake, but instead of feeding each other, we both turned and smashed our pieces in his face. Neither my husband nor I talked about it beforehand. It was just something we both decided to do on our own because we were both tired of his "teasing" that downright bordered on being nasty at times. That's when I was absolutely sure, without a doubt, that I was marrying my soul mate. It's been 20+ years and 2 kids later, and we're still going strong! ❤
