These will work as long as the fire is on the ground, if its mostly at the ceiling it wont
Most houses fires burn down.. These have to be in direct contact with flames to explode

I’d like to see how it would work with an ideal air flow(chimney) Seems like all the successful demos are using a giant cardboard box with top flow and who knows what the fuel conditions are. Kinda cool though.

Hmm large versions of that could be used on forest fires. Something in the five hundred to one thousand pound range. Maybe dropped as one hundred pound clusters. Some forest fire expert will responded about having fought forest fires for 20 years and I can tell you that wont work.
