Shay and Altair, they both were of same kind of people.

They were both naïve when they came into the brotherhood and questioned the brotherhood's method and also agreed with the Templar's philosophy.

But, the difference is that in case of Altair, he was given knowledge of the methods and philosophy of the brotherhood whenever he asked. And his superiors always helped him answering his doubts. That's why he stayed assassin.

In case of Shay, whenever he questioned the methods of brotherhood, his superiors either bullied him(like chevalier) or changed the topic(like Liam) thus causing him to go towards the Templar way.

Such an underrated game. This game helped me a lot through some of my toughest times. Whatever people say for me this is one of the best assassin creed games to be ever made.

For anyone wondering why Shay never wore a hood with the templar outfit it's because the cover of the game is actually a metaphor for the change he undergoes. You can still see white portions on the hood signifying his old life with the black being the corruption of his youth and views. The templar outfit, highly detailed face, and assassins awaiting him signify the emotional stress and grief killing his former brethren has caused him. Lastly the Morrigan positioned behind him is his will to see things through to the end no matter the cost or burden. I only wish there were more game covers like this that hold so much significance to the game itself.

I thought this was gonna be a bad one.
Everyone is like "It's a reskin of Black Flag.
Just a different story."
That right there, is what makes it different from Black Flag.

But, out of my curiosity, I bought it on it's first day.
I was wrong.
Assassin turned Templar.
Shay is personally my 2nd favorite video game character of all time.
(1st goes to Connor Kenway)
I recommend this game.
Truly an amazing way to end the era of Assassin's Creed games on last gen consoles.
The story is heartbreaking, serious, anything and everything is in it to make a perfect game ( Except for the damn "out of the animus" parts)
Anyways, great game Ubisoft.
You really did good on this one.

Loved Shay as protagonist. I want more Templar games, I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I prefer Templar ideals over the Assassins' since the first game.

I hate how short Shay's story is...it was really fucking good, and i really hope we see him in a future game. Shay, Connor, and Arno need to cross paths for sure.

I loved how they linked this why Unity. Rouge certainly was a great game, it's a shame it's story mode was a bit short however.
