the Dryon III being a black redeco of the Tryon 3 is a pop-culture reference that Japanese figures sometimes has a black version of the protagonist figure, the Chogokin line of figures being the notable ones with examples include Getter Robo and Super Sentai mecha, these black redecos is sometimes repurposed in the media canon as a "brother unit" or "an evil clone" of the protagonist character.

Every Megazord can agree with you there cos i'm pretty sure all have them have been released in black & gold as a limited release. Daizyujin/Dino Megazord has been released as such with almost every new iteration he's had.

This looks great, but the gold stickers are a bit of a disappointment. This wouldn't be too bad if these gold accents were done up in separate parts to make it easier to paint if you want to paint it in a gold color.

The gold is pretty specific and not something you'd use normally, but it fits well with the black so unless you know your paints and can reproduce it, the by far best option would be to varnish the kit after you put on all the stickers. This is one of the rare cases where a full gloss coat would look absolutely mindblowing.
I doubt you have time to do this, but if you do I hope you'll let us know how it turned out.

the silhouette looks better without the backpack and honestly the p bandai paywall is the biggest detriment since if this were regular release and was in a bargain sale it would be fun cheap and unique kit especially for painters

I was able to snag this guy at the Bigbadtoystore and it is absolutely EPIC

Granted the stickers are a lot
And I fully painted the V-Fin
But still an awesome kit

The sword is actually called the Hyper Minovsky Chohoken in the dub, and it's meant to be held in both hands

My only complaint is that the black plastic marks pretty easily

Eventually the heat blade on his arms becomes loose if you have this kit for a very very long time. I got mine around 2016 and now my dryon 3 is on its 5thyear. Already try thicken up the joints and peg but still the same
